Our businessOak & Steel Liquor Merchants (Oak & Steel) is a local liquor store located at 227 Bay Street Port Melbourne. We specialise in providing diversity of wine and spirits. Our customers appreciate the diversity of our range and the assistance we provide to them.
Our operating hours are• Monday – Tuesday 11.00 am – 6.00 pm• Wednesday – Friday 11.00 am – 7.00 pm, and • Saturday 10.30 am – 6.30 pm.• Closed Sundays & public holidays

PositionsWe are looking for someone to join our team part time to assist cover our operating hours. There may be flexibility to change these hours, where agreed by the involved team members.
Position overviewOak & Steel is an independent liquor store. Being part of the team involves;• Engaging with customers to identify & recommend suitable products• Taking customer orders and payments• Cash management• Receiving, handling and storage of stock• Maintenance of the store’s amenity & presentation• Contributing to a safe & inclusive environment• Promoting Oak & Steel through social media and online platforms• Expanding and sharing your appreciation of wine & spirits Knowledge & SkillsWe are looking for people who have capabilities in:• Customer service• Operation of retail equipment• Knowledge of wine & spirits industry; commerce and/or production• Maintaining workplace records• Organising their personal work requirementsExperience & aptitudeBeing a member of the Oak & Steel team will have appeal to people with attributes of:• Retail or hospitality experience environments• Appreciation of wine & spirits industry; commerce and/or production• Promotion of products and/or services• Working effectively both within a small team and independently• Visual merchandisingLegislative requirementsUnder the Victorian Liquor Control Reform Act 1988 (VLCR Act 1988), to be employed by a licenced business you are required to:• Be over 18 years of age• Hold Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate• Undertake continual RSA training

Renumeration & conditionsThese positions are covered by the General Retail Industry Award [MA000004]. Retail employee level 3.
